Crock Pot Sloppy Joe Cheeseburgers Notes:

  • This recipe is from Crock Pot’s The Original Slow Cooker Recipe Collection.
  • We used our browning slow cooker since we needed to brown the ground beef, but feel free to use any 6 quart slow cooker and just brown in the skillet ahead of time.
  • Choosing a ground beef with less fat will reduce the amount of draining you have to do after the browning step. These Crock Pot Sloppy Joe Cheeseburgers pack the flavor and don’t need the added fat unless that is your preference.
  • I have edited the recipe to say that the water is optional because we have forgotten it from time to time and it still comes out yummy.

I use ground turkey & leave out the garlic. My super picky husband eats this for breakfast lunch and dinner until it’s gone. Love it!

Hi Susan, thanks for the suggestion for ground turkey. We do not eat ground turkey, so I do need to try the meatless products and see if it works. If anyone else has tried, please let me know! Thanks!

I would like to use this recipe with a ground beef substitute – such as Beyond Meat, Gardein, Boca or something similar. Do you think that the recipe will work the same or do I need to make any other changes? We do not eat beef or pork, but love to crock. Thank you, Sue
