Let’s start out with the lovely Lucky Penny trailer. Lina Menard had always imagined living in a tiny house, and created the perfect little fairytale home for herself by converting a basic trailer into the quirky “Lucky Penny.” Warm coppery wood tones form a beautiful complement to cool minty greens. 2. Cob Cottage
Wow, it is amazing how much the Cob Cottage looks like a fairy mushroom house (rather like this one). Located in the hills of British Columbia, it takes cues from its environment, with a design and materials that reflect its surroundings. The interior is just as gorgeous and unusual as the exterior, and there is a lovely deck offering a view of the woods. 3. The Rustic Way Cottages
What wonderful whimsy! The Rustic Way Cottages were developed by Dan Pauly. Some of them are guest cottages and tiny houses, while others function as playhouses, sheds and saunas. Notice the asymmetrical design and the crooked chimney. Along with the delightful built-in flower box, these features give these cottages an appearance which is both rustic and fanciful. Each cottage is built out of reclaimed wood!
Sadly the original link for this image leads to a dead page, but if I didn’t know better, I would think that this tiny house was a fairy house! It seems amazing that it is full-sized. It’s a garden shed, but you could just as easily use it as a guest house. That thatched roof is incredible!
5. The Stackwall Queen’s Cordwood House
If you enjoyed the shed with the thatched roof above, you will also love this amazing house, constructed using the same cordwood technique. It was built out of materials found right at the location where it stands—cordwood, driftwood, bottles, bones, and mortar. 6. The Jack Sparrow House
This adorable little house with its distinctive door is located in Cornwall. It has a delightful little garden outside, and the view of the sea from the bedroom window is out-of-this-world. Just imagine waking up to that view … are you imagining it? Good. Because if you are going to plan a trip to Cornwall at any point, you can stay there! Right now, bookings through AirBnB are just $131 per night.
The Tree House was designed by architect Dan Phillips as an artist compound. It has a main house, a working studio, an apartment, and a patio. Thirty-five feet below the house is the Huntsville Town Creek. If you have a portfolio, you can rent the house to use as your temporary studio. It is outfitted with features which are specifically useful to artists working in different fields—dancers have extra mirrors, sculptors have extra power for their tools, and so on.
Here is another house by Phoenix Commotion which could easily be a home fit for a fairy. It is described on the official site as “a composite of every house Dan [Phillips] had ever seen in story books,” and is constructed in a Normandy-inspired style.
Steve Blanchard is a sculptor who uses wood as a medium. There isn’t a whole lot of information about his works, so I am not sure if you could live in them or not (perhaps they are ornamental), but they are absolutely gorgeous, and look exactly like something off the set of a fantasy film.
Okay, so this one looks more like a house a mermaid would live in than a fairy, but it’s close enough, right? This is one of the most famous tiny houses in the world, built in 2006 by Javier Senosiain of Arquitectura Orgánica. 11. “Rundown Cottage”
This one was discovered on Pinterest; sadly the original blog post appears to be no more. The Pinterest post does indicate that the house is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia. The “rundown” look is eccentric but quite pleasing to the eye, with a strong play of geometric lines running through the form. The ivy and the moss on the roof add even more fairytale charm.

You will discover this amazing tiny accommodation in Carmel Valley in California. If you’ve been to the area, you know that it is a bustling urban environment. 18. Mind, Body, and Spirit
Behind his home in Atlanta, Peter Bahouth decided to construct something wonderful: a series of three tree houses interlinked by rope bridges. Named “Mind, Body, and Spirit,” the three homes and the pathways between them are strung with hanging lights that provide a magical ambiance. You can almost imagine that they are the glow of little fairies!
Suspended between two-hundred-year-old Western Red cedars, this home looks like something out of European folklore. And perhaps that is not a coincidence, considering that you will find many such tomes on the bookshelf inside. The entire structure simply oozes light, warmth, comfort, and safety. What a magical place to call home.

Okay, one more hobbit hole, because I just can’t resist! This one is particularly amazing, since it was constructed for just $300! My DMV fees cost more than that! 22. Blue Ridge Fairytale House
Here is a delightful tiny house that really does look impressively like a fairy house. The design is evocative of a lighthouse, and measures just 850 square feet. The gray shingles and stonework really offset the bright red beams. It is the contrast in these elements which is really magical. Inside is a surprisingly spacious kitchen and living room along with a master bedroom complete with a balcony. The kids’ room is in the tower. Since this house is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, it must have quite a view!
Located along a river, this tower is accessible by boat. You park in the boat slip underneath, and then you can enter and climb to the second floor, where there is a bedroom and a lovely fairytale balcony. What really makes this tower magical is the artwork adorning the structure above the balcony, and the lovely design accents on the eaves.
24. Owl House
To be fair, I have never seen a single fairy house before in the shape of an owl … but then, this idea is so original that I’ve never seen a full-size house like it before either! But one thing I can say, and that is that this Bordeaux house in France is full of whimsy and magic—which certainly means it has a fae quality to it!
I’ve noticed that a lot of fairy houses have designs which feature a stucco look and a gently curving walls and corners. The lines are almost straight, but not quite. Those design elements along with the ferns growing on the roof certainly make this charming little Oregon abode a candidate for real-life fairy house. You’ve got to love the tree stump porch too!
This charming little Tudor house has so many beautiful design embellishments! Check out the gabled roof and the mullioned windows—and that wonderful door. Stepping through that door, you would be walking right into a fantasy world!

Moon Dragon is one of many beautiful fantastical designs by tiny house architect Zyl Vardos. The shingled siding has a subtle range of hues, all very warm and inviting, and offering a lovely complement to the red roofs. The curved lines of the structure lend it an otherworldly appeal. I can’t resist sharing another caravan-style tiny home. But looking at the picture, I think you can see why this one is so evocative of fairytale splendor! Those dark woodsy colors are breathtaking, and just take a gander at that custom Dutch door. Those artistic embellishments aren’t painted on—look closely. They’re made of iron!

I also located no information on this tiny cottage, but I can’t say sing its praises sufficiently! For one thing, the architecture itself is stunning, with incredibly ornate stonework. But add to that the private moat, and you have a little fairy castle fit for any prince or princess!

This house is probably pushing the definitions of “tiny” a bit (from certain angles, it actually looks quite spacious). This unusual home in Sweden looks almost like it grew from the forest floor. While the design is beautiful, it is also functional. The steep angle of the roof keeps snow from piling up, and the home includes a movable extension which helped the builders get around some local codes—all while providing additional insulation for the home during the cold Swedish winters.
