Vacation Protection Updates

Effective March 1, 2023, there are updates to pricing and inclusions for our vacation protection plans. Please review the plans carefully. Plan inclusion updates are for all existing reservations, including those made prior to March 1, 2023.

Agents may switch from VPI to VPP or VPP+ prior to March 15 for any existing bookings that did not have VPP or VPP+ available at time of booking provided that your travel date is outside of the final payment due date, which is 30 days prior.

Cancun Construction Update

As many are aware, there has been ongoing construction on roads leading to and from the Cancun Airport. Due to traffic concerns as a result of the road construction ground transportation operators, including NexusTours, are adding approximately 1 hour to pickup times at hotels in order to compensate for potential traffic around the area until construction is completed. Time for a systems update....

We are of course fully aware that you have been noticing a larger than usual amount of "time outs" from our system in recent weeks, which have mainly been occurring during the evening hours.

As much as we wish this would have been from normal agent activity, it has unfortunately been the result of an enormous high level of "non-human traffic" to our website.

First our regular site www.vacationexpress.com was affected by this and once we put restrictions and other barriers in place the issue was resolved. Then it affected www.pro.vacationexpress.com, which is the url we advise agents to use.

In an effort to reduce that large volume of non-human traffic, we are adding some measures to pro.ve that worked well for ve.com, which is the addition of CAPTCHA. When needed, you may be asked to click on the images offered by CAPTCHA in order to proceed.

This additional measure will go live Thursday afternoon Sep 15. We are doing many, many more things behind the scenes to protect our site, but this is just one of them. There are no guarantees in life and especially not when it comes to these serious matters, but we are hopeful that this will have at least some positive impact. Fingers crossed!

Jamaica Construction Update

Construction has begun on the northern carriage way of the Howard Cooke Bridge in Montego Bay. Due to traffic concerns as a result of the road construction ground transportation operators, including NexusTours, are adding approximately 1 hour to pickup times at hotels in the Montego Bay, Negril and Lucea zones in order to compensate for potential traffic around the area until construction is completed. We suggest that you advise your clients when selecting their flights to ensure optimal departure times for their vacation.
